“But for consumers, it’s simple: To be an ethical porn consumer, you need to be paying for your porn.”
Jiz Lee, a porn performer and marketing director of Pink and White Productions, a porn production company based in San Francisco, said it best in a tweet:
“If you’re a porn consumer who cares about the health of the industry and people behind it, remember that wherever there’s free content, there’s a paid version.”
To support your favorite creator, you can usually purchase a subscription of their content through their personal website.
To find that website, sex educator and erotic laborer Haley Hasen recommends simply searching their name on Google, Bing, or Yahoo.

FetLife
With the tagline “Kinky Heaven,” FetLife has been an online gathering place for BDSM practitioners since 2008.
Make an account, and you’ll have the opportunity to connect with over 9 million users. Exchange photos and videos, read blog posts, and discuss whatever things your kinky heart desires.
You won’t be able to purchase erotic content directly on FetLife.
But if, for example, you’re looking for Dominatrix porn, you can search ‘Dominatrix’ on the site, and you’ll likely be able to connect with someone who you can pay to IRL or URL dominate you in exchange for money, explains Hasen.
Chaturbate
Chaturbate is one of the top places to go for a sexting or camming experience.
The site boasts a high number of performers and can be searched through a seriously wide variety of hashtags, including terms like “tail,” “dress,” and “fingerplay.”
As a viewer, you can watch some content for free, but many performers share what acts they’ll do in exchange for a specific service.
In other words, the more you tip, the more likely you are to like what you see.
Generally speaking, Chaturbate is for pleasure-seekers who enjoy (or at the very least, don’t mind) a lower production value.
But there are cam models who have OnlyFans pages linked in their description that you can click for paid, higher-quality content.
NiteFlirt
If you enjoy getting freaky on the phone or teasing via text but don’t have a willing partner, try NiteFlirt.
More of an à la carte experience than other platforms, “NiteFlirt is a sexting and phone sex service that allows users to search sex workers based on a few different categories whenever they want,” explains Hasen.
If you’re more of a visual, ahem, learner, there’s also an option to purchase photos or videos in the Goodie section.
Frisk
“Frisk is a content-sharing platform that’s sex worker owned and sex worker run,” explains Hasen, who left OnlyFans in September 2020 for Frisk after OnlyFans started paying creators on a monthly as opposed to weekly basis.
Hasen says using the platform makes her feel far more seen, heard, and valued than she did on OnlyFans.
For erotic content consumers, Frisks comes with benefits, too. Mainly the opportunity to interact with creators in a wide variety of ways, including images, video, voice notes, and direct messages.
If you know a content creator who uses the platform, simply search their name to find and then support them. Otherwise, you can search creators in a wide variety of categories, including “Tattooed,” “Butch,” and “Athletic.”
According to digital sex worker Sarah Fishman, certain subreddits are h-o-p-p-i-n-g with erotic content creators and fans. Some of the subreddits even have moderators.
To find a subreddit fit to your personal interests, literally just go to Reddit.com and type that interest into the search bar at the top.
You’ll probably find a thread for it, and within that thread you’ll likely find content creators to support.
More specifically: 18+ Twitter (which is also known as Alt Twitter).
According to Hasen, “Twitter is one of the least censored social media platforms.” As such, many erotic content creators use the platform as a marketing device.
In short: If someone likes what they see for free on Twitter, they get funneled to that creator’s OnlyFans, ManyVids, or Clips4Sales page.
So, how do you find content creators on Twitter? According to Hasen, the hardest one to find is your first.
“There’s a lot of reposting by sex workers of other sex workers on the platform who are doing similar work,” she explains. “So, once you find one person whose content you enjoy, it’s very easy to find others you’ll enjoy, too.”
To find your first, she suggests searching for a mainstream porn star whose content you know you enjoy or diving down the rabbit hole of hashtags.
Instagram’s Terms of Service are far stricter than Twitter’s, so erotic content creators who use the platform often have to do so carefully.
As Fishman says, “Every sex worker I know who has used Instagram to promote their work has been kicked off the platform at least once.”
Still, some creators do use it. To find a creator whose work jives with your sexual tastes, search hashtags like:

Whoever told you there was a one subscription limit was, for lack of a better phrase, full of it.
When it comes to how many OnlyFans, ManyVids, or personal sites you can subscribe to at once, the limit — to quote Cady Heron — doesn’t exist.
Findrow
As Hello Rooster describes it, Findrow is a cross between OnlyFans and Patreon.
More exclusive than the other content hubs on the list, Findrow’s performers are invite-only. According to the site, this ensures that you’re getting “the best of the best,” “real models,” and “real talent.”
Don’t worry, viewers — you don’t have to be invited to enjoy the high-quality goods. You just have to pay a monthly subscription fee.
This monthly subscription gives you access to all their performers as opposed to just one.
Four Chambers
“From my standpoint, Four Chambers is probably the best production company to support if you’re looking to support an ethical company,” says Hello Rooster.

CrashPadSeries
CrashPadSeries, if you haven’t heard of it, is a queer-owned, queer-run, and queer-operated porn platform.

PinkLabelTV is basically the Netflix of porn.

The “ethical” in “ethical porn” isn’t an adjective, it’s a verb.
Meaning, for a production company to be ethical, it has to be continuously working to create a working environment that supports its workers and eliminate any harassment, sexism, racism, homophobia, or abuse from the set.
So while the above options are good picks at time of publication, that (sadly) could change.
“My recommendation is to follow your favorite performers on social media and listen to them,” says Hello Rooster.
“What are they saying about brands and platforms you subscribe to? This will give you the most up-to-date information about the ethics and running practices of a production company,” they say.
